Just in case you didn't catch it here lets try this...

Do you see it now...that is right, Braden baptized his friend!

Braden came up this morning and said to me " I am going to baptize my friend today?" So for all of you that know Braden he sometimes says one thing, and with a little twist means something else. I just stared at him trying to figure out what he was saying. He repeated it three times, and I don't know how many times I repeated it to him, but lets just say it really caught me off guard. He said "Well you know I can, right?" I replied "yes'' then said "Well I told Dad, he knew about it." Well there is the breakdown in communication!

I wish I could have taken a picture of the actual event, it was so cute, Nathan's younger brother, and Edward were kneeling right in front of the font, with their noses up against the glass, only to have there older brothers in the font. It was so cute. The evening was amazing, Nathan's dad was there, and he seemed like a really neat guy. I hope he follows his son's example! Over all I was really super proud of Braden and he did an awesome job!

Jumpin' Jungle

So the pictures aren't that great, but we had a good time. Katie invited me and Edward out to Jumpin' Jungle a long time ago, but then I had the hysterectomy, and really wasn't up to running around, climbing, and jumping. Well this morning I went to the doc for my 6 week follow-up, and all was well. I was released from any and all restrictions. Jumpin' Jungle here we come! I talked Braden into coming also, because I knew Katie's older kids would be there also, and I knew that Makade would love to play with Braden. (it is amazing how alike those 2 are). They all played really hard and had a great time. I forgot my camera, so the cell phone photos are all I have!

He fell off one of the toys onto the padded floor, and realized that he could jump around and smash into the wall and even fall and it didn't hurt!


Having a real tough time finding pants that will stay up on the boy, and not be high waters!

We had a blast! I came home so tired and sore.... I think I need to ease into this no restriction thing though, but a good tired /sore though!

The Nose in the Bear's Head

A few years ago(we hadn't moved to Kuna yet) Ruth and Nick got us all these noses to wear to the Christmas Light Parade in Kuna. They had one for each of us and them and Joie. Edward found one and put it on and Trevor was quick to get this picture. Just after the picture was taken...

He found this cute ceramic bear that Adrienne painted quite awhile ago that I had setting under the tree.

He put the nose up in the head, beats me how he got it up there, because we have done everything short of breaking it to get the nose out and it won't budge! I ask Adrienne if we could break the bear to get the nose out (Edward was being really persistent) she never said yes go ahead, but she never said no either. So the nose is still in the bear's head!

Today 20 years ago Trevor and I had our first not so little baby girl. She came into this world about a week overdue, and I was so not ready to be a parent (and the jury is still out). I was so freaked out that they (the Hospital people) would actually let me take her home, and they weren't going to be checking up on me. I was so scared, happy, overwhelmed, excited, and well just WOW! Not only was she our first but also my parents first grandchild! (I think they kind of like her a bit) So here she is 20 years later going to collage planning her future making all kids of awesome decisions all by her self despite everything I did to mess her up!

Here she is so happy to be with her family celebrating her birthday just and she does every other day of her life with this imperfect body, enjoying every good moment, and making the best of the bad! She is amazing, and I have loved every one of the 631,138,519 seconds of those 20 years and feel very blessed to be apart of her life!

I forgot to get candles ( I always do) we waited till she got home from school about 9:30ish

So we let her open her presents and have the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake (which I left the sugar out of) But not to worry I get a second chance to do it right tomorrow when we have her birthday dinner with her Grandpa Rice

Since she was going to be late getting home I went out to a Christmas party and I lost the game so I ended up with this totally amazing hat!

and yes we actually woke up Edward for her little celebration!

My "BIG" baby boy!

So we get these coolers once a month with Adrienne's shots in them. Then I put duck tape on them to keep the lid on them and to add a little color. We have 13 now (I have had to throw a few away) but get a new one each month! He loves them!

He pushed his highchair into the family room and climbed in and was just sitting there watching TV

We swapped out his crib for a bed since he tried to climb out of his bed head first, and well I really shouldn't be picking him up. When we (I was involved and really tried hard not to lift things) first put the bed down he climbed on and put his feet out the end of the bed in that little slot and hung onto the top of the fire truck and said "go go" and then Trevor pulled it up to the wall, and then he kept doing it thinking it would still "go"!

We made a bunch of changes to his room since he can get up and roam whenever I figured I should remove the changing table, and go to a shorter dresser. He likes to climb a lot. He was getting really mad at Braden and Paul for moving his dresser into Adrienne's room (Adrienne loves it though), and then all night he was just really clingy! He did take his nap (very short) and he is sleeping in it now. I just sit in there with him till he goes to sleep. Mom not to worry he is using your blanket, but when I took the picture he found this blanket that his great-grandma Campbell made and thought it was cool and had to try it out, but we switched back because your is warmer, bigger, and it has other trucks on it so it goes with the fire truck! Braden laid down on this bed, and well Edward was not very happy about that and wasted no time in letting Braden know he better get off his bed! So yes my baby boy is getting bigger, but my baby he always will be!

We have had this little pumpkin in our home for about a month now. Edward thinks it is a ball, I am really surprised it made it to Halloween in one piece! This is Braden texting and carving at the same time!

Braden's job was to help Edward, and he did a good job!

Adrienne's is being held together with pins, & Edwards has a cleft lip, But I think they all turned out pretty good!

On Halloween Braden is going to a friend’s house to help scare trick or treaters. Adrienne is going to the singles activity at the Rollerdrome, Oliver has to work, but will probably get off early when things die down, and he may head out to that same activity. Trick or treating is dead in our neighborhood, so I think we will take Edward down to where Braden will be and let him do just a little trick or treating. Tonight Edward was just running all over the place having a blast not really getting it. Trevor just followed him around, and let him go where ever he wanted, and he was just running around out in the big field. When Adrienne saw this she just did not think it was right and showed him what it was all about. He did pretty good until he felt the other kids needed to give him candy too, then Adrienne tried to turn around and come back on the other side where more cars were lined up…he just couldn’t see that the cars were on both sides, and kept trying to go back to where he was and keep gong the same direction. The good thing about the not into eating is I was able to just give him 1 peanut butter cup and he was good.

My sister Mary reminded me of this as she was telling me about a conversation she was having with another cousin. Something like "Ya know it is really nice seeing you, but I wish it wasn't under these circumstances" So now she has started making time to get together with different cousins that are close by, and maybe just going to lunch, or what ever. Well a few months ago Katie Ripplinger (Wayne & Karen's daughter) moved up here to the Treasure Valley. It has been a long time since I have had family live so close, so after getting off the phone with Mary that day I contacted Katie to plan a time to do something together. We planned a hike in Juniper Gulch! We went yesterday, it was only her and her oldest son Makade.

This is a fairly recent picture of her family. Her youngest is 1 month older that Edward, so we are going to get the 2 of them together more often. Then Makade is 9 Alxis is 7 Teigan (boy)6 and Tiagh (girl)6 and Reilly is 20 months. This picture was taken out side the Logan Temple. Her husband David just opened his own dental office just a few miles from our house, but he didn't take our insurance so we went somewhere else.

This rock is called "the frozen wave" and well Adrienne always wanted to catch a wave and figured this was the perfect time!

We couldn't have ordered up a more perfect day! The weather was awesome, and the sky was so blue, and well this is everyone but me cuz I took the picture. Braden at the lead with Makade, then Trevor with Edward on his back then Adrienne, the Bob (our friend and dentist) and Katie.

So Edward and I would hang out, and everyone else climbed around on the rocks. He didn't mind so much cuz it gave him time out of the back pack, and well I really didn't mind keeping my feet on the ground! Here he is kicking up the dirt!

I took some pictures of Adrienne and Trevor jumping across a split in the rocks as they were climbing around.

I had to get this quick cuz he was sliding down, he didn't like to be up on the rocks so much, well by himself.

They thought maybe they could come down this way, but then decided not and came down another way.

We are in Juniper Gulch, so we there should be at least one Juniper salute!

This is all of us, well you might ask "What about Bob?" Well he is taking the picture! This is Toad Stool Rock! but now we call it poop rock because we have now changed 2 of Edward's poopy diapers here. I was also hoping for some fall colors, but I guess if you go to a place called "Juniper" Gulch you should not expect much. There were many rocks with a lot of different colors, and well with our blue and orange we added a little color too!

I think this looks a little like PAC-man eating a pellet.

This is about the only time I freaked out! I could not see how close to the edge Adrienne and Trevor where, and after watching them for a bit, I started getting dizzy and I could really feel my little spot where I was shrinking fast, and knew I just needed to turn around and walk away. Other than that I did pretty good!

As we where walking out I looked up and I saw this little hole (well I am sure it is not that little) but from my perspective it was little, (can't see if very well in this picture) with the sun right behind it....did I mention the amazing weather, and the blue sky!

Well I had to get a few butt shots!

He didn't quite fall a sleep before we got him down and had lunch, and then he slept all the way home!

Well we had a wonderful day, and recorded the football game and watched it later (what a great game)! I am really feeling it today, but don't regret a second of it! And well if any of you decide you want to come and check it out I would do it again a million times over! It is a beautiful place, and a fun place to go! I guess next weekend I will need to go in search of fall colors somewhere else that doesn't have "Juniper" in it name!

Looking For Grandma

Today we headed out to Fruitland to spend some time with Trevor's parents. Arden was preforming and a cowboy band/poetry thing. As we come into Fruitland we start calling his mother...probably 15 times. She didn't answer. We start driving around, and end up and Ontario, OR! (really they are just across the river from each other) So we turn around and stop and ask for directions. I really don't even know if we are still in Fruitland, so that was the first question....Where am I? We really thought that Janette told us they would be at the farmers market, then she told us it wasn't a farmers market, it was a farm with a huge produce stand, and hay rides, and that is were we should come because the kids would really like it. So I as for something like that, I am directed to go back the way we came about 5 miles and turn left right before we get to I-84. We find it no problem, but his parents aren't there. So we decide to go on the hayride out to the pumpkin patch and get some pumpkins. On the ride we start talking to some of the other people and we were then informed that the Cowboys are preforming at the old school in Fruitland all day today and then again tonight. Well by the time we get back to the car it is 2pm and we need to get back to Boise (1 hour trip) to pick up Braden from his PSAT.

This was a cute little farm, with a ton of produce...I should have gotten a few pictures of the produce stand!

Fishy Face!

Yes this pumpkin she picked out is over 50 lbs. There where others there that were much bigger, I am glad she settled for this one!

On the return trip I looked over and Trevor had this squash bug crawling on him, he almost flicked it away, but I saw that Edward saw it and had him leave it alone....

It starts climbing on him. He just sat there and watched it. After this we drove past a field that has sheep in it and when he saw them I knew he knew what they were. In the book "the busy little spider" that his Grandma Campbell got him it has all kinds of animals and what they say. He thought that was really cool to finally see one.


I don't expect anyone to believe this but yes I bought some flowers. I just thought they were cool sunflowers, and kind of fit the season.

So in the end we never did not find Grandma, she did call back once, but never left a message, but we did have a really good time. After we got Braden picked up we sent Adrienne down to pick up Trevor's dad, and he came over and watched the game with us. I ask him if he wanted to watch a movie when it got over, and he said he would start one but would probably go home early....well he is still here and the movie is almost over. Yes over all it has been an awesome day!

Wide World of Music

Tonight we went to see the Wonderful World of Music put on by the Boise Institute choir "Unison" . Every year is gets better and better. This year Oliver was involved. They each audition for the choir, and this year 30 people were cut. Then there were some special acts in this concert....Oliver got three other guys together and did this starwars freek thing and auditioned for a spot. Well they got the opening act. Right now we are still downloading the video from tonight to trust me video will follow.


The did a bunch of different dances to a medley of songs that where really quit random...Yes the Pride!

This was toward the end of the medley....our collage kids hard at work was a comment from behind me.

Oliver hinted that the Summerwind Skippers might show up...

If you don't remember they were in the finalist for America's Got Talent this year. They are a local team form Meridian. I worked with one of the girls dad at Peasley's. Every year I would buy a Christmas Wreath, and I got one of their cookbooks. It was a real treat to see them preform tonight!

It was a lot of fun and it ended on an awesome spiritual note, and yes videos of those songs will also be shared later. We will break them up into eaches so you won't have to watch the whole thing.... It was so amazing. At the end Adrienne noted a face book post by Braden "Hey does anyone know where the off button is on little kids are i was left with him and i cant make him sleep" HOWEVER when we got home Edward was asleep in his bed, with jammies, and a fresh diaper on! Yes even Braden will step up and preform when needed....he just needs to maintain that act of cool.

I am on such a high right now, and it isn't from all the marshmallows I ate either! I found a great script for the Eagle Court of Honor, then I mixed it with an out door campfire theme....It was such a blast, and everyone did their part so well. Before we started I told the kids to just stand up and belt out their part, don't hold anything back....and well the delivered so well. When we had to switch the dates I was very worried that it wouldn't work out. I had to call around and find different boys to do the parts. The toughest part was the lack of scout leaders, we have so many leaders who have to go out of town during the week, and some only come home once a month all in the name of providing for their families...what awesome leaders! So I need to come up with someone to be the chairperson and present Oliver with the Eagle award. Bro. Sanford just coming to mind (I think it is the last name reminding me of Grandpa), he wasn't in the scouting program in our ward at all, but I gave him a call and he so stepped up and did an awesome job. I really wanted to video tape it but with it being out doors, and no microphones I really didn't think it would work. So here are some highlights!!

Trevor Hatcher Conducted, and he spoke up and stayed on task and did an amazing job!

Jacob Hatcher called for the flag ceremony! Again spoke up and just took control!

Bro. Sanford starting the Award Program. I wish Oliver was a little closer, but he just wouldn't look at me trying to get him to move over.

The boys would just stand up where they were sitting and say their part right on cue they were so awesome!

Each Eagle in our Stake gets a neckerchief with an Eagle embroidered on. There is a gal in our ward that does that kind of work. I will have to get a close up because it is nice!

Bro. Savage was honored as his mentor...He had 4 super awesome leaders in Kuna, 2 have passed away, and one has had to move away from the Treasure Valley for a job. That made it kind of easy for Oliver to pick one.

K this is a classic picture because this is Oliver sitting in his original camp chair from when he started scouts (can you believe it lasted 6 years) It is warn, and has some little holes in it from sitting to close to the fire, but it is his Sponge Bob chair!

Now for the fun!

We had marshmallows, grand crackers, chocolate, fudge strip cookies, and starbursts!

It was such an awesome Court of Honor, Jerri stepped up and chased after Edward during the program, and after, and then Autumn took over, the at one point we all headed off to the church, and I hollered back "Trevor you have Edward" and he said a no I don't. One of Oliver's friends went back and picked him up and brought him in. Oh what a fantabulous evening! Oh and did I mention the day couldn't have been more perfect. It has been cold and rainy....When I dropped off the script for Bro. Sanford, in the poring rain, he said and we are having this out side? Oh ya I told him it will be a nice day. He looked at me with a little sceptically....but he was very impressed with the way the weather turned out. I think the high was close to 70 and then it cooled down nicely after the sun went down.

Well he went to nursery yesterday...Yes one of the best mile stones of turning 18 months! He walked right in pulled up a chair and just started playing. When I went to pick him him he wanted to keep playing.


Well I figured my super big boy needed a big boy hair cut!

Sunday August 21, 2011 Braden turned 16 years old. I had ask him several time what he wanted to do for his birthday. He finally settled on his first date, for Monday, 2 days before school started.

So Sunday after church I let him open his present that he picked out. He is so used to me forgetting things, so I told him I forgot to order his present, but not to worry it would get her Tuesday or Wednesday. He felt ok about that, again more focused on the date on Monday. HA I got him.

I ask for a sharp item to assist in the opening of the present, and this is what Oliver presented Braden with.

Anyone notice how intently Edward is watching???

Yes don't take your eyes off the sharp object they will put it down at some point....

See I will find the sharp objects...maybe not the same one, but this works!!!


Braden found and picked out the chess set he wanted....

K it is not easy to find people who aren't doing anything 2 days before school starts....but we did. The only hick-up was one of the boys showing up without his swimming suit... Thank you Oliver for bringing one down!

I brought them lunch from Panda Express...Well if you are going to use chop sticks....

Using the app....turning each other into zombies!

Some of the girls needed to leave for different sporting practices and more school prep, so the boys felt good about finishing out the day with a little x-box party.

Again, he really thinks he knows what he is doing....

All in all I think is was a pretty good day, one of the girls threw up after lunch and didn't feel very good, it was also her first date and everyone felt really bad for her, and she is one that needed to leave early, I hope this is something she can laugh at yes even now!

The forth in the third perspective

The first perspective what Mary's in Genuinely Jarman, and then 2nd in Becky perspective For Champions, and I can agree on many points (since Mary used a lot of my pictures) and I will defiantly agree on the Joe part and him being home with his girls! At that point I feel we could have had a crappy 4th, and everything could have gone wrong, and finding out Joe was home would have still made it the best 4th ever! Mary and Becky thank you both for putting into words, and expressing the weekend perfectly.... Now for what the missed!

So I don't know where the foot thing started....but this perspective looks like he has a huge foot!

So at the free toy booth we got Edward some of those blow up balloons and well he popped them pretty quick, but loved walking around swinging the popped balloons, almost as much at the bunny!

And really Becky....you hit on a bunch of stuff "only in Malta" but how could you miss the toilet tossing! No Braden didn't win, but where else could you through a toilet?


Did anyone mention the RAIN! Loved it! However I really think the shirt belongs to Mom not Dad, it fit me way to well!

So Saturday the 3rd before we went to the Malta celebrations, Trevor, Ben, Steve, Jim, and Braden hiked up to the snow drifts (4,000 Feet strait up) Trevor felt he was slowing them all down so he turned back but the others had a lot of fun. He did however get a picture of this very unique tree! I love this picture! Edward Angie, and I went to Malta to run the "Malta Fun Run" Melissa was there to help and direct, Edward was in it for the ride. I finished 3 minutes behind Angie. I was at 48 minutes, last year when I walked it was more like a hour and 20 minutes.

So Trevor got Jordan to spray paint a shirt....Jordan had a blast painting this shirt for Trevor. On the front it says "country girl" and on the back it say "cowgirl up!" Trevor put it on Tuesday morning and went and worked on Melissa's computer with every intention of taking off the shirt before heading home. Then Ben got involved....at first it was Ben saying he would give Trevor $50.00 if he wore it all the way home, and that turned into Melissa getting some much needed parts for her computer if Trevor wore it all the way home, and I needed to take pictures. This is Trevor putting gas in the car in Burley.

Now he is going in to get a soda.

We even got this truck driver to point and laugh (I just didn't get it in the picture)

Here we are at home....I thought I got some more pictures in Mountain Home, but you know me and these stupid cameras ....I didn't save it.

The funniest is where the flower is on the front of the shirt. I would just start laughing when ever he walked into the room. So in the end Trevor wore this shirt all the way home and Melissa has already got her new computer parts! So it looks like we either need to head back to Juniper, or she needs to make a trip to Boise!

7Up (Sprite) Chicken

Basic ingredients:

1 pound bacon

1-2 cups flour depending on how much chicken you use (1 cup per gallon zip lock bag)

8 chicken breast or 12 thighs

seasoning salt

Garlic powder

pepper

Carrots

potatoes

Mushrooms (a bunch)

onions

1 can of 7-UP

Butter/margarine

So this is what I did. The chicken was was cut into slices, and I put them in a zip lock bag with lots of season salt & garlic powder, (this is the only seasoning you use). I cut the bacon up and cooked it up. I took it out and then browned the chicken (in 2 batches). Leave the extra flour in the pot. I used baby carrots because I hate to pill and cut carrots. Peel and cut up the potatoes, and chop up the onions and mushrooms (unless you got the presliced mushrooms), and no I am not lazy I just hate cutting up stuff!

So when the chicken is browned, through in all the potatoes, carrots, onions, and mushrooms you want, slice the butter on top, and dump on the sprite or 7up. Cook it in the dutch oven for about 45 minutes or an hour, or until it is done. Stir it and check on it every now and again. YUM YUM!

Very Amazing Weekend

So here we have it...Trevor turned 40 on Friday.

Steve and Mike came up to play games with Trevor and the boys. It would have been really fun for me and Adrienne if Natalie and Michelle would have came also. You 2 were missed!

When I got up at 2:45 to get a bottle Paul had already gone home, but everyone else was still up and playing.

When I got up at about 5 it was just Steve Mike and Oliver. Then I got up at 7, and everyone had gone to sleep. Then Steve got up at 8:30 ish 9:00 and shortly there after everyone else got up. Mike I think you needed a little more sleep!

Probably wondering about the white shirts and ties to play games??? Well Oliver was ordained to an Elder! WOW Paul was ordained this morning, and Oliver was invited to stand in on that. He said it was pretty cool to be on the other side things.

I am so glad that Steve and Mike were here to be a part of the action! It just made it that much more special!

I was going to go to be just after Edward went down. We were all really tired. I was cleaning a few things up and headed to bed when I remembered I signed up to take brownies to church for fathers day! So I ran to the store and got a couple mixes and made them up waited for them to cool, and cut and bagged them so they could be handed out to all the amazing dads at church today! So yes another late night...One of these days I will the the early to bed thing down. But speaking of fathers day! I clearly have the most amazing dad ever! I am also continually amazed by my brother's and brother's-in-law as they step up each day and strive to be the best dad ever for their kids, and set such an amazing example for all the nieces and nephews!

A rare occurence

I have been working on getting him to take one nap a day. Starting on Thursday I started keeping him up and not letting him nap until after lunch. Come Sunday things were going pretty good and he was taking one 1 1/2 to 2 hour nap each day. Great he should sleep through sacrament meeting. Well he slept 45 minutes to an hour. I guess it wasn't enough. Oh he had been waking up about 2 times each night, except Sunday. He woke up at 2 then 3 then 4:30, at that point I brought him to bed with me and held him and he slept till 7. I really think I was more tired that him.

So last week we had a few really nice days it even broke 80 a couple days. Then this morning we wake up to rain and dang cold! Mr weather man says we will hover in the low 60 for a few days, my sister call it "spring is summer fighting with winter and summer always wins in the end" I am just wondering when? Well because of this fabulous cold snap we had a visitor this morning....

I was getting Edward fed, and cleaning up in the kitchen. I turn around and I see this guy running across the floor. First I scream, Edward just copies me and laughs, and Adrienne is dead to the world, like me being killed by this thing would even bother her. Thankfully Edward threw my flip flop over the gate the day before, so I skillfully toss it onto the spider. Then I watch...will it just keep going pulling the flip flop along with it? Is it waiting to see if something more will come raining down on it....nothing it doesn't move, and well neither do I. What next do I look to see if I actually got the thing, leave it till the boys come home, or get the courage to step on it.

Well today I feel like the elephant, after I got the courage to actually put the flip flop on, I wiped it across the cold wet lawn on the way to the car (not the one pictured above)!

So today when Trevor got home we originally were going to go to a driving range and practice golf....with my thumb in a brace that wasn't going to work to well. (I strained it during Oliver eagle project and it wasn't getting better) So we went to a movie. We went and saw "Something Borrowed". If you have seen the previews you have seen the movie, not worth watching, But is was fun just hanging out with Trevor. We have been using quicken for forever to balance the checkbook, and we keep having to up date it ever 2-3 years, we got sick of it and we decided to try a new program called (YNAB) you need a budget. There was a webanar about it at 7:30, so we rushed home to catch it, and well it was 7:30 eastern time so we missed it. However we discovered our or babysitter wasn't babysitting very well, all she wanted to do was watch movies online, and hadn't even fed the poor little guy (I guess that is what you get for free baby sitting) So Trevor and I decided to go get some dinner and since Edward hadn't eaten we took him with us. (Adrienne is a good baby sitter, and had just finished finals today, and needed a good vegging party)

Yes we have a Cafe Rio in Boise now. It opened around the first of the year! Ever since we went after Michelle's baptism in Logan, I have wanted to take Trevor there.

He had a really good time, and was really good while we ate. He found it was really cool to hit the edge of the plate and make his food go air born! We got him a quesadilla, and we ordered a pulled pork salad, and a chicken tostada. They were both super yummy, and Edward actually did not like the quesadilla, but he ate our salads. What can I say the kid has good taste!


Just as we were getting done he started squealing in the high pitched scream. He thought it was kind of funny the little turkey. I hurried and cleaned up his mess, while Trevor finished up his meal. Over all he was good, and we all had a good time.

Earlier today while I was making lunch, he pulled the tissues off the table, and pulled them all out, and got some other papers off the table, and just laid down on the floor and was playing with the yellow paper. He also likes to carry the pet roller around and he rolls it down his clothes front and back it is kind of cute.

Oliver's Eagle Project! Going down in the record books!

This is where it all started...Oliver needed an Eagle project , back in August of 2010 we discussed many options. Then we were moving into September and October, something needed to be picked. Our stake just did a lot of work for the schools in our neighborhoods, so I suggested Oliver check else were, maybe starting with Chief Joseph...Well that is where it ended. There was a lot of work that need to be done.

The flower boxes needed cleaned out and replanted, and the paviers needed to be pulled out, leveled and replaced.

Originally Oliver was going to paint a large map of the US, but the PTO, and principal said the kids really needed more 4 square courts. So that is what was done! (and yes I went to a PTO meeting) Becky I appreciate what you do a lot more now. I always thought PTO's job was to think up things to cause me misery, BOY WAS I WRONG!!! PTO is a vital key to the schools getting A BUNCH of stuff they normally would not get! They make school bearable!

There were four stations like this around the track that needed the gravel cleaned out, and the boarder replaced.

Painting....well the weather forcast called for rain on Saturday (the day for all the work to get done) so Oliver, Braden, Paul, and myself went down and painted the numbers and 4 squared on Friday. However we couldn't have ask for better weather on Saturday! It was awesome!

Well to finish off the time line started back quite a few pictures ago.....Now April 16, complete the project is a must! Collect all signatures, scout master review, rework some of the dates on the Eagle Application, a few adjustments to make the presentation of the paperwork well presentable! And a huge thanks to Tracy Price for taking the paperwork down to the scout office on Monday the 18 to get the final signature! On Tuesday the 19 he turns 18 and all will be in vain with out it!

Oliver and Braden go to Borah High School, in Boise Id. As most know William E. Borah was a senator of Idaho also know as "the Lion of Idaho". So the mascot is a lion. Well once again Borah High School is in the top 6% of all high schools nation wide. During the year the teachers nominate students for what the call "Senator's Choice Awards". 400 students were nominated, and then they pick 40 out of the 400 to receive the award. Well a couple of weeks ago we got a call from the school, (Trevor and I, they first call the house phone and I couldn't answer it, so they call Trevor's cell phone) . We needed to show up today for the award ceremony, because Oliver was receiving one. It was Trevor's job to make sure we had the car today so Edward could come with us. Well that didn't happen.....We ended up taking Edward (unrestrained) to a neighbor close by, and she watched him. Sorry about the pictures....Yes I had the camera. I didn't check the settings or anything because I thought Trevor had done that already, because when he handed me the camera he told me the battery was really low, so I didn't even turn it on until they announced his name. Just before the program started I got a text message from Sarah saying they were OK and would call me as they got closer to Nashville. I sat there thinking about how lucky we were that we could meet together like this. Our lives are moving on. WE have power, WE have warm showers, WE have schools to go to, WE have open road to get there. During the presentation the recognized different groups, and sporting teams who had done well, and they also mentioned some of the scholarships that were won. The honored some teachers who were retiring, and a coach. As the program started they had the Boise City Police Drum and Pipes group usher in the flags, carried by the JROTC. Braden was there all decked out and looking nice carrying in the Idaho State Flag! Braden has done several of these (color guard) things, but made sure this was by far the biggest group of people he has done this for. I wanted to get a picture but they (Oliver and Braden) didn't know we were there. They did ask all 400 of the kids who were nominated to dress nice for the day to make sure they looked the part. Toward the end of the assembly Sarah did call. I left early and went to talk to her. As she described what they had been through, I was so thankful they were well and ALIVE! She talked about some of the debris found in her yard, I will call it tokens of shattered lives....shopping lists, small toys, game pieces, day planner pages etc..... How blessed I feel, and thankful I was able to be apart of this fun assembly to recognize students who will always be remembered in Borah High school!

In one year Oliver will be going on a mission. He is taking a missionary prep class. This day Trevor went down and moved the car to see what would happen. It was funny because he moved it to where they had parked the prior week, so it didn't take them long to find it, just made them (he and Paul) think....What the, dang this is weird! He will make an awesome missionary!

He got everything finished and signed, and now he is tracking down some letters of recommendation. Then he will need to get together a board for his Eagle Board of Review! Almost there!

My Beautiful Blond Baby Girl

As I was laying down with Edward this after noon, because he is just not taking a good nap today, I closed my eyes for a second to have this memory come flooding back. I don't know what sparked it, but here it is.

It will have been fourteen years ago on August 2nd. I was riding in the helicopter headed for Primary Children's Hospital. Not know what to expect, I sat there looking down at my beautiful little girl. She lay there with her eyes closed, not breathing on her own. I look at her golden blond curls, and wonder if I will ever get to do her hair again. She looks like a little china doll with her eyes closed, but this day her head was a little miss shaped, with some bruising. I don't think I have ever felt more alone, as we fly over the green hills, and mountains below dotted with many mountain lakes and ponds. I had put a little braid in her hair that morning, her hair was finally long enough. I ask the flight medic if I can take her braid out. Trying to be strong, because that is the only way I was allowed to ride with her to the hospital. I take the little rubber band holding the braid together, and let the braid fall loose in my hands, and the golden locks fall between my fingers just praying this is not the last time I get to hold her hair in my hands. The 45 minute trek is over, we are at the hospital. What a relief it was to get off the elevator and see my 2 wonderful sisters there, and one amazing brother-in-law. I will be forever thankful for you and sacrificing your time so you could be there for my beautiful blond baby girl so she wouldn't be alone, not knowing if I would be able to ride with her or not.

I can still feel her hair between my fingers, and every time since when I have been able to to her hair. It has been 20 year since I first found out I was pregnant with her. I don't remember if I always knew that little baby was going to be a girl, but in my heart I want to believe I did. What a blessing she is to me and Trevor, and we treasure every minute of everyday we get to spend with her. I know with every passing day she is getting one day closer to getting married and starting a family of her own. I think secretly I hope it is still 3-4 years out and she will still want to stay here at home, but one of these days she will be gone from our home and living on her own. I only hope I have taught her what she needs.

Edward is supper happy that Adrienne is home. When she was gone he kept going down the hall knocking on her door and on the bathroom door, yelling "Adean"! He was so happy to see her this morning. Then she left to go to school, and he just sat in the hall wondering where she went. He was super excited to see her this afternoon when she got home. He wouldn't let her put him down, and he just kept playing with her. He sure loves his big sister. Just a side note...He loves his brothers too, and is excited when they get home also.

Today Mary was cleaning out her phone, and sent me a few pictures she had on her phone. I texted back "Cleaning out your phone?" the reply was "yeah" . Edward wanted my phone so bad he kept trying to grab it, he finally just shouted "HI"! Yes I let Mary know he wanted to say hi, but if I had called her he would not have said anything. So I also shared with Mary a few things he had been saying, and didn't once wish her a happy birthday. Wow how selfish.
Anyway earlier he was playing over by the back french doors, because he can see out there, and he likes it there. Well he knocked over the fan, and I looked around the corner to see what had happened and he looked and me with a surprised look on his face and said, really loudly "Wat iazat?" apparently we say What is that" a lot to him when giving him things, and showing him things? his look was super funny.

Then the other day he was standing on the couch and the dogs came up, and he stood up tall, and very seriously, and loudly said "dow dow" telling the dogs to go down. Yesterday when they started barking, he started yelling "dogs". I kind of think loud noises startle him and he fells he needs to yell back, so when I was vacuuming he was making the same noise the whole time it was funny. When I yell and the kids to come (because they are in the other room or downstairs) he will yell their name right after me. Adrienne is Adean, and Braden is Daden, and Oliver is well he just yells when I say that, all thought he has tried to say Oliver's name before. Paul (Oliver's friend) was the first name he said which was funny.

At this point all the animals are still MO MO, but he does say dogs, but I don't think he understands the difference yet. He is just a lot of fun to have around, and makes it very hard to get anything done. We sure love him tons!!

He he getting very brave in his walking, and standing up on his own with nothing to help. I have also been working with him on the stairs, and well today Oliver left the gate open, and we found him down on the first landing, yup he crawled down the stairs on his own!

In December I decided to save the Styrofoam coolers Adrienne gets her medication in. We get one every 2 weeks. I plan on painting them and using them for blocks. Right now we only have 3 of them. Edward really enjoys them, he also pushes them around the floor. I haven't got it on tape though. Also this morning I put him down and he just stood there, then I said big boy, and he put his hands up and he started walking, He did it again for Trevor when he got home from work.

Michelle had her birthday card for Toucans and needed to get it used. So they came up to Boise and we went with them. And yes we took Edward with us. I did find some with vertical slats ( one to replace the one at the top of the stairs he has shaken it till I am afraid it won't hold much longer!

So over the past few weeks Edward has stood up on his own, he just didn't realize what he was doing. Today he stood up in front of me and Trevor and knew what he had done. He looked so pleased with himself. Then he did it again and started clapping his hands (he slaps the back of his hands) We tried to recreate the event and well it didn't happen but we got some fun moments!

Oliver went to get is patriarchal blessing yesterday. And well I forgot to remind him to fast on Saturday, and I was so worried I had screwed things up super bad, and that the sprite wouldn't be there at all. I was super worried, and then I totally stressed Oliver out the next morning, and he just took off to get his blessing, and left me and Trevor home (I love cell phones) I call him and ask him to come back to get us. He thought we had something else to go to, it kind of makes me laugh. Me up and ready to go some where on Sunday at 9 AM when church doesn't start until 1 pm what the heck? Only for my boy, he should know better than that! Well we got there and had a prayer before going in, and I think we were all pretty calm. The blessing was amazing, all the things I keep trying to tell him and I just can't get it into words. Again it was just amazing, and I think I was forgiven for forgetting about the fasting thing! It was truly awesome! Next week Braden is up for his I hope I will be a little more prepared, and no he does not have his drivers license.

Adrienne went in Friday to get her wisdom teeth taken out. She is feeling much better but a little soar because she talked too much at church and after church, they had a munch and mingle and well she stayed for part of it. She is looking much better, she still has some swelling on one side but I hope that will go away and things will continue to get better without any complications.

Home safe and sound, Thank you Diana, They even took a little detour and Adrienne was able to get Diana back on the right track by writing notes turn here and so forth and got them home~

She couldn't swallow water which is the wet spot on her pants she would gag and then spit it out. Diana wanted a picture of it. I talked Adrienne through swallowing first put the water in your mouth, Close is breath through your nose and wiggle your toes and your mouth will know what to do....and well it did. Yes she was very surprised that it worked, and didn't understand why the people at the doctor's office didn't know that trick!

I will take some picture of her tomorrow.... and you will see she looks much better.

Powdered Edward

I made a Pumpkin roll and had it resting on a powdered sugar

covered towel. Edward, it turns out, can now reach up and take

things off the table if they are on the very edge. He pulled the

towel off the table with the cake and all it's powdered sugar.

So what is in a Name

So after reading Mary's blog I decided to look up all our names to see what they mean. I do remember Mary telling us how she chose names as to what they mean, and what their combination mean. Diana (Trevor's sister did the same thing with her kids) Well as you can see what follows we did not take that into consideration.
First lets take Rice, which means fiery warrior, and Campbell which means crooked smile.

Then there is Trevor which means Prudent, or wise, and Oliver which means Olive tree or peace

So Trevor Oliver would be a peaceful wise . who is a fiery warrior.

Elizabeth means Consecrated to God.
So Elizabeth Campbell Rice would be Consecrated to God, with a crooked smile, and a fiery warrior.

Adrienne means dark, rich, Sary (Sarah & Mary) princess and bitter.

Oliver meaning again is Olive tree or peace. and James means Supplanter or remove or succeed with force and pleasure.

So Oliver James is peaceful suplanter fiery warrior

Braden means Broad, and Paul means small.
So Braden Paul would mean a broad small fiery warrior.

Edward means wealthy guardian, Stephen means Crowned one

So Edward Stephen means wealthy guardian who is a crowned one who is a fiery warrior.

Well as you can see there is some conflict with the names and their meanings, I guess that is why there is always great confusion at our house :)

It was nice and quiet, We had Duane, Trevor's dad here for a few hours. After he got here the kids just kept doing what they were doing and he just kind of sat there. I cornered Adrienne and told her to get out scrabble, and well Duane is very serious about his scrabble, he has an official scrabble dictionary (we had it here at our house). Ya he kicked some scrabble tail! Anyway the kids had fun. During that I put together a step by step book for Duane to check his email, and Trevor set up a face book. We will take baby steps here and start with email, then maybe around Christmas or New Years we will introduce face book depending on how email goes. Yesterday Oliver and I made pies me pecan, and Oliver pumpkin. We also decided to prepare a turkey with a brine so we started yesterday and let it soak over night. This morning Trevor cooked pumpkin rolls. As soon as the bird went into the oven I went to work on the rolls, just not hard enough. As the bird got done (so we thought) Adrienne peeled the potatoes, Trevor did the green beans, and Oliver did the cinnamon butter. Oliver got impatient with me and the rolls and took over and finished. It was all after scrabble while watching Pirates of the Caribbean (paused for dinner). Dinner was nice, however Oliver was wolfing dinner down, at that point he said I need to hurry I am going to go on a double date with a friend....WHAT! OH well it was nice while it lasted. They are now here playing Halo Reach. I have everything cleaned up and the Turkey is now cooked and put away, the pie is still out on the table so I guess I better go put that away...It was nice the Weaver's were missed, has they have been since they left, however it was still very nice. :)

Trevor as Mr. Clean, Beth at a witch, Adrienne as Smurfette, Oliver as a druid priest, Braden as death with light savers, and Edward as our little skeleton!
We had a blast at the ward party last night (Well our 2 dried priests (Oliver and his friend Paul) left early and came home and played x-box) All of Boise is trick or treating tonight, and I refuse to go buy candy because every time I do I eat it, and it is Sunday and I don't want to be running to the door all night, and I know the boys won't do it either. Well I hope you all had a happy Halloween!

I went to Wall greens today to get a few things and found these ball. I have been wanting to get some little balls for Edward to teach him how to roll back and forth, well when they come in blue and orange who could turn them down.

Ok so I couldn't help my self....yes I got some for Sawyer also you all should be getting them next week.

Edward loves and takes advantage of any opportunity to get into my stuff. He has crawled between the gate (that Braden took down) and the couch.

I left him with the boys while I went to Wall-greens, then the post office.

This day he found the string on my hoodie, and he loved chewing on it. I kept coming back to it.

Here I left my bowl and spoon on the floor, and of course he had to take advantage of that.

OH ya he know what to do with a spoon!

7 Months today!

So last Sunday I decided to put him in the tub without his seat, he sat up like a big boy and splashed a lot and had a great time, I don't think we will be using his seat again :)

He has also pretty much grown out of this little chair, the other day I put him in this chair and strapped him in and he turned sideways and grabbed the leg and pulled himself out of the chair.

Trevor has been getting up with him and letting me sleep just a little longer, he loves hanging out with his dad.

Adrienne picked this shirt out for him, it says "I get into everything" with a cookie jar on it. At the time he was just rolling around, and hadn't started crawling, well he army crawls all over the place and explores everything. (he will never get far because he leaves a trail of spit-up) Someone please tell me how to turn the faucet off!

This is his toy basket, he get under the handle and gets stuck, he can roll out or crawl out because he keeps trying to put his head over the handle.

He somehow manages to always get the same sock off, so when he has socks on it is always just a sock and it is always on the same foot!

So he kind of broke my keyboard by hitting it all the time, so since it was still under warranty we got it replaced and we didn't need to send the old one back, so he got a new toy.

Here is was hanging out in the kitchen with me while I fixed dinner, I gave him a heel of french bread, he loved it and it kept him busy for quite awhile.

Tonight (at 7 months) I ask Braden to bring him in the kitchen while I was cooking again, and this is how he was delivered, he does have toys under the blanket. I just thought he was so cute so I took some pictures of him. The first one he is looking up at Braden, I think he was trying to figure out why he did what he did.

Every now and again I wonder what I was thinking, but he is so worth it! He is such a little monkey, and he is so much fun. He is getting very vocal and making a lot of different noises and spitting, he also growls a lot, even when he is eating, yes the spitting and growling. It just makes me laugh, and then of course he keeps doing it. (Maybe I shouldn't have read him "Where the Wild Things Are"

So he came home with a new uniform today. So far his group has catered 2 meals for the Meridian School District. (Lunch today made he late for seminary)

I hope he keeps this picture and remembers the picture behind him and it is worth it!

So this is the boys. Braden just got his JROTC uniform today, WOW doesn't he look spiffy! He really likes the shinny shoes! Edward just rediscovered his swing again. I was ready to get rid of it, and then I thought I would try it one more time and he loved it, and I have a blast playing with him in the swing.
Oliver pretends that he is too cool to play with Edward, and he calls him "Hey Kid" all the time, but one time when I put him down for a nap Oliver snuck in and was consoling him, but if you were to ask him about it he would deny it.
